Terms of Service
Last updated: October 5, 2026
These Terms govern your use of CtrlShiftQR (the "Service"), operated by [Company legal name], [address] ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
CtrlShiftQR lets you create dynamic QR codes and short links that redirect visitors to destinations you choose, static QR codes, and (on eligible plans) analytics, an API and related features. Features and limits for each plan are described on our pricing page.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information and verify your email address.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password and API keys secure.
- You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live).
3. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to create codes or links that lead to, or are used for:
- phishing, credential harvesting, fraud, scams or impersonation;
- malware, unwanted software, or exploits;
- spam or unsolicited bulk messaging;
- illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, or content infringing others' rights;
- harassment, threats, or content promoting violence;
- evading our screening, e.g. chaining other URL shorteners or cloaking destinations;
- tracking people without their consent (e.g. IP loggers).
We screen destinations automatically and review abuse reports. We may show a warning page, disable links or QR codes, or suspend accounts that violate this section, with or without notice. Report abuse at /report.
4. Plans, billing and cancellation
- Paid plans (Standard $9/month, Pro $29/month) are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time in the billing portal; your plan stays active until the end of the paid period.
- Switching between paid plans is prorated. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. [Confirm refund policy.]
- If you downgrade, existing QR codes and links keep working, but you can't create more than the new plan allows and paid-only features stop.
- Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you add (names, destinations, logos). You grant us the licence needed to operate the Service, including rendering QR images and redirecting visitors. You are responsible for your destinations and for having the rights to any logos you upload.
6. Availability and changes
We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Dynamic QR codes depend on the Service to redirect. If we ever discontinue the Service we will give at least [90] days' notice and let you export your destinations.
7. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms. When an account is deleted, its QR codes and links stop redirecting.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. [Have counsel adapt to applicable consumer law.]
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and disputes will be resolved in [venue].
